Project Overview

This project was done in partnership with The Mustard Seed, a Christian non-profit organization that is dedicated to assisting individuals who are struggling with poverty and homelessness. It consists of two distinct parts, the first being an educational activity for youth ages 12-18, the other a series of motion graphic videos for younger audiences which allow the viewers to make decisions on behalf of the main character. These two resources will aid The Mustard Seed as they foster empathy for unhoused individuals amongst youth across the city.

Reflection

Through multiple testing sessions and consultations with educators, I was able to refine the group activity in order to accommodate a variety of use cases. Overall, these resources create a cohesive educational toolbox which will help youth practice empathy for unhoused individuals and spark deeper conversations about poverty and homelessness.
